But nothing beats a car’s paint job when you can see your facial pores in it and when parked people actually stop to look at the car. The car is a 1997 Honda Civic used to ferry the kids everywhere, daily driven. Had it for 10 years (bought it used) with factory paint until it has a small accident. Got the whole car repainted. Total cost of repainting and fixing up the rear of the car was RM1800 or ~USD500. With that sort of money you can’t expect to get much. The car had quite bad orange peelafter being repainted. Steps taken to get the mirror finish: 1. Wet sanded whole car with 2000 grit sand paper by hand. Except for the bumpers, wing mirrors and door handles. I rather not touch plastic painted parts. 2. Compounding or removal of sanding marks were done using a wool pad with rotary buffer and Osren Crystal Cut 3.0. 3. Polishing and light swirl removal was done using rotary buffer, finishing black foam pad and Osren Crystal Cut 3.0. By this time you would get the mirror finish and would be able to see the fonts on printed bottles or the pores on your face. 4. Is the 1992 mitsubishi eclipse M/T any good(for $ 400)? If so, then wouldn’t the same year plymouth laser be just as good, seeing as it’s the same car? Or is it a little different? I know it’s an eclipse, but are there any changes, other than name and emblem(plymouth instead of mitsubishi)? I’m not looking for a very long term car, just a first car that I could learn to drive M/T on, and practice auto-tech stuff on. And keep, if I like it. It looks to be in good condition, but the guy says it has some “details”, but nothing to serious. Here’s a link, and let me know if it’s any good.

thanks. And I don’t want anyone telling me the turbocharged one is better, because I can’t afford to insure it, or I’d buy that one. So is THIS a good car? Or even an ok car? THANKS!

It’s the exact same car, just different cosmetics. All the mechanical is the same.
As to whether it’s a good car or not, that depends 100% on the exact car you’re looking at.
Which none of us can see, inspect, etc.
Also, the insurance is pretty much a non-issue, because it still is a 2 liter engine’d car. Insurance really isn’t that much of a difference between the turbo and non-turbo.
However, consider that the average, fair condition car costs around $ 2000.
What do you really expect to get for $ 400?
I’d be surprised if it lasts a week.
